Yin Yoga 50-hour teacher training in Riga, Latvia 2019

Yin Yoga is a subtle, deep and powerful approach to Yoga, where breathing and asana are combined into meditative, deep opening and healing practice.  It has transformative effects on the body and mind. Yin Yoga helps us heal both our heart and our mind, it allows us to be with ourselves and experience the body to be included in to our souls.


About the training

Our 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher training is gared for qualified yoga teachers, and who want to deepen their knowledge and practice or refine teaching skills, but also for dedicated students wanting to dive in and learn more for their own personal practice and enjoyment. 


Certificate

The cource is Yoga Allaince certified (50 hours) towards your continuing education (YACEP). Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher. Yoga Alliance is the largest international nonprofit association representing the yoga community.

Course content

Overview of Yin Yoga
What is Yin Yoga and how does it differ from Yang yoga styles? What are the basics and essence of this yoga style? Why practice Yin yoga? Yin yoga theory and methodology: fundamentals, essence and practice.

The Philosophy and history of Yin yoga
Intro to Taoism. Yin vs Yang – philosophical and practical differences between Yin and Yang. A knowledge of the history of yin yoga.
 
Traditional Chinese Medicine
The core consepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Meridian Theory, what is Chi, Theory of five elements.
 
Yoga asana technique and teaching methods.
Through theory and practice, we will cover main Yin Yoga postures, with variations, modifications and contraindications. We will learn each pose verbal adjustments, funcyional anatomy, alignment principes, risks, benefits, modifications, variations, hands-on adjustments and use of props.
 
Yoga anatomy
An in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology for Yin Yoga: compression vs tension; exploration of skeletal variations and uniqueness of human body; limitations of asanas and what stops us; physiological effects of Yin Yoga on the fascia, connective tissue and joint.
 
Yoga class sequencing
Yoga class principles and objectives, planning and sequencing the classes, explore the act of intention and theme settings. How to creatively plan and compose diffrent series of asanas. Use of language for energetic effect, instruction and cueing.
 
Pranayama
Basic and intermediate pranayama techniques, importance of breathing, how to connect asanas and breathing.
 
Practicum
practice teaching in groups and individually, preparing and sequencing yoga classes, observing the classes
 
Homework
Homework includes essays, literature reading, yoga practice and self work.

Training has 2 modules:

Teachers

Temea Milliron

​Temea is the leading teacher in Infra Yoga School and one of the Infra Yoga studio founders. She is born in Estonia, but on 1999 moved to United States. She has been practicing yoga more than 15 years, but the very first Vinyasa yoga class she took during her training for NYC Marathon on 2007. Temea experienced a joint discomfort and hip pain, and decided to take a yoga class. She walked in to Vinyasa Flow studio and was hooked, because her hips and joints felt better right after the class and she liked the physicla part of it. Also she started noticing how much she enjoyed the spiritual and mental part of the practice. In 2009, Temea became certified 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga teacher to share her love for yoga to others and opened her first studio in US.
On 2012 she opened a very first heated yoga studio in Estonia. and on 2013 founded first Yoga school with Yoga Alliance in Estonia and offered first 200-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher training. Now the school runs also 25h, 50h togehter with 200h-teacher trainings.

Infra Yoga School has been her main work focus and project for the last years. Every year the Teacher Training proves and grows trough developments and new insights. Temea is inspired by the students she meets and loves to share her deepest passion to yoga.

Temea is E-RYT500 and YACEP (Continuing Education Provider) certified teacher with Yoga Alliance and has completed her studies in Advanced Embodied Yin and Yang teacher training program. In 2015 spring, she completed Prenatal Yoga teacher training and is registred Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT). In same year she trained with Judith Hanson Lasater and now is certified Restorative Yoga teacher. Additionally Temea has Embodied Yin yoga teacher certification.

Today she teaches in USA and Estonia, her Vinyasa classes are fun, dynamic, energetic, but playful with a strong emphasis on alignment and breath.
